Santa Barbara Getaway

Here we are in Gorgeous Santa Barbara! With red-tile clay roof tops, whitewashed adobe walls and the architecture infused with the spirit of Spain. Travel time was 2.5 hours in the car, which in my book is not far but amazing how something so close has the most opposite effect compared to being back at home. We checked in to the Ritz Carlton Bacara Hotel which is set along 78 oceanfront acres. It had the aesthetics of a Mediterranean village, the villas had wroght-iron balconies, a quick access to the beach to capture the sunset and dining at restaurants that uses local ingredients. Let’s just say this was the perfect relaxing getaway!

Any opportunity we get to stay at a Luxury hotel we always try to make the most of it on the first day. Even when making dinner plans we settled to eat at the hotels well known restaurant ‘Angel Oak’ and I am so glad we did, I do recommend the Blackened Alaskan Halibut on a bed of Creamy Mash Potatoes with a side of Chanterelle Mushrooms. We had full use of the Spa treatment rooms, all 3 pools and the fitness center. We took a stroll around the hotel, had lunch at the Bistro and enjoyed the ocean view. Over all it was very relaxing and felt like it was a breath of fresh air. We didn’t have to worry about waking up early the next day as we weren’t planning to go on an crazy adventure. I got to go for breakfast, another sauna visit and relax by the pool. Everything was such an Ahhh moment.
