Life Update

It’s been a minute since I sat down and reflected on where I’ve been, where I’m at, and where I’m going…so here’s an update!

I got a JOB! In a New City, New place, New people! This was it! Starting completely fresh with new beginnings. This was my first job in the United States and it had taken some time to adjust to the new workplace. When it’s something new, it can seem quite overwhelming at first and you can be left quite unsure on how to behave, wondering what the co-workers are like, the types of communication used as it was all so different to the UK. It was a learning curve but I got there eventually and I do have to say that it had helped with my self-growth and also seeing certain aspects of work life differently.

We Moved! Me and the Mr purchased our new home! Just reading that in my head gives me butterflies! I have a place that I can call MY home ☺️ We got our keys on the 2nd of January 2018, and we officially moved in 2 weeks after that. It was such a proud moment when we walked in to our home together, smiling ear to ear and having this moment to ourselves. I’m sure we were both thinking ‘ We did it! ‘

When I think about it, it all happened too fast.

Before landing our current home, all of my weekends were being used in to searching and going to house appointments. This hardly gave me time to show love to my blog or any of my social media platforms. When your mind is occupied by other tasks, tasks that you’re not as familiar with but you try to learn as you go along, sometimes you end up losing focus on oneself. Buying our home was not easy, it was an emotional rollercoaster ride. The process itself is mentally draining, we said a lot of No’s, received No’s too before finally ending up with something we are happy to start in. Imagine the toll it takes on you, the constant negativity, the issues and the bad luck. House hunting is a tough process, but there is a light at the end of the tunnel and remaining optimistic is what got us through this. These are just a few hurdles you go through in life, and now we couldn’t be happier

I am planning to share some parts of my home once I have it ready and fully decorated. Being creative is a passion of mine, it brings me so much personal joy! This will be my new project for the next year or so and I am very excited to share with you and possibly inspire you.

And lastly, it’s not a reason or an excuse of Blog MIA but I got a CAT! To be precise a Snow/Silver Bengal Kitten. She came into our lives on 2nd January, same day we got the keys! Double Blessing. We named her ‘Luna’ and she shares both mine and the Mr’s last name because we are extra like that. She is another bundle of joy that brings us so much happiness and makes the home feel less empty. She really has stolen our hearts and has become part of the family, honestly when you get a pet it makes a lot more sense. She finally has a Instagram page @lunabengalcat, so feel free to see all of her cuteness on there.

Mansur x
