The Gigi Hadid Look

G O O D  M O R N I N G ! It’s a beautiful day in California, especially after the rain and storms we have had this wet winter season. This month I am going to bring you a make up look which was inspired by Gigi Hadid. She has this gorgeous skin tone, a face like a goddess that has a beautiful luminous glow. I grew up looking at magazines and analyzing images of models and their makeup, and generally they were natural, glam, smokey or editorial work and I found it so inspiring and wanting to copy those looks. However, the mother wouldn’t allow me to wear makeup and all I had was a black khol eyeliner from some random Middle Eastern country so I was left with dreaming of make up and to also watch my older cousins apply makeup. Sigh!

Back to Gigi Hadid, who is naturally beautiful and whose makeup is minimal. I noticed she prefers her peachy, earthy tones, a lot of glow and sometimes black eyeliner to make her green eyes really pop. Bearing this in mind, this somewhat helped me decide what look to do on my client, well considering she looked a little like Gigi but with blue eyes.

Skin Prep:

Katha’s skin is normal to dry but more on the drier side which means she is going to need double moisture to hydrate and brighten up the skin. Starting on a complete clean face I prepped the skin by spraying Omorovicza Queen of Hungary Mist , it is a purifying and hydrating ‘toner’ (I prefer to call it an essence) which absorbs in to the skin. I then applied Charlotte Tilbury Magic Cream with my clean fingers and massaged it into Katha’s skin, starting from the chin going upwards. At this point she was already nodding off, that must mean my massage was working. Finally, some glow to the skin by using Charlotte Tilbury Wonder Glow, to plump up the skin and lock in that moisture. This glow is just the base, we are going to pump up the skin with more glow with my favorite products listed below.

Eyes:

Looking through images of Gigi Hadid, she generally goes for a soft smokey brown and a highlight on the center of the lid, finishing off with a black liner. I wanted to create a similar look by only using three shades and to really make Kathas blue eyes stand out. Firstly, I applied a warm peach tone (Melt Cosmetics Rust Stack, Shade – Antique) which was a perfect transitional color to blend and to add some warmth to the whole lid and crease. Using the Master Palette by Mario ( SOLD OUT ) shade in ‘LULA’ in the crease to softly intensify the warm tone, this shade is more of a mauve than a straight up brown which is why I love using this shade, it creates enough depth without looking too obvious. I finished off by patting the shade ‘5th AVE’ with my ring finger on the center of the lid. And thats it! Using my favorite Black Gel eyeliner by Inglot, I winged it out but enough where her eyes are still the center of attention.
